2006 Bangalore Marathon date is announced
Last week came to know that , date for 2006 Bangalore marathon has been finalized on September 17th. I have not seen any official communication in any media. But one of RFL member, received that date in response to a query from Crossover, the organizer.
We had a run around Ulsoor lake on Sunday, July 16th. I was really ill prepared for the run. I have not been running regularly since our last run at Malleswaram. I had a very late night on Friday and got up early on Saturday. Hung out whole day with a friend who is in town. He has been a fighter pilot in air force and now CO at a air base. Pretty cool. Then we had a party on Saturday night at another friend's place and went to bed late around 1:00 AM.
When the run started around 6:30 AM, I really felt all the food and booze in my system. Had a very staggered run for 3 laps ( 10 K). After that I found rhythm and lap number 4 and 5th were best. I was planning to do 2 more but towards the end of 6th lap , I just BONKED !!! So I did 20 K in around 2:13 hours.
I could have done another 10 K if I had rested properly and eaten well on the previous two days. With Marathon in another 2 months, will have to be more disciplined about diet and rest.
